MERKUR - Solingen

Merkur "Vision" 2000 Double-Edge Safety Razor, Satin Finish

Old World Craftsmanship and Quality - Imported from Germany

Merkur's "Vision" razor is the most technologically advanced safety razor available. Unquestionably the Highest Quality Safety Razor Ever Made! Words fail to express the Level of Quality and Performance achieved in this razor as a result of the close-tolerance engineering and craftsmanship that went into its design and manufacture.  The razor is manufactured with a slight slant bar effect;  this slant creates tension and delivers a closer more aggressive shave than other adjustable Merkur Razors.  This level of attention to detail is typically found only in critical use medical or scientific instruments.

The Razor features full adjustability, allowing you to change the angle of the blade within the razor's head to match your personal requirements,  and a perfect balance that makes it a pure pleasure to use. The "Vision" razor will provide a shave quality that can only be compared with a Professional Barbershop Shave and is sure to exceed your expectations. A Merkur "Vision" is to razors as a "Hummer" is to jeeps!

Comes securely packed in an attractive "Old World" tin and includes ten Super Stainless Platinum Blades. Replacement blades and Matching Shaving Brush listed separately.

Please read the article in the "How to and Why" section for the care and maintenance of your Vision Razor.

Maintenance & Cleaning of the Vision Razor

The following are the Manufacturer's Recommendations concerning the Vision Razor:

"In order to prolong the lifespan of the razor it is mandatory to clean the moveable parts with EVERY blade exchange thoroughly, for example, with a nail brush.  Only the meticulous removal of all soap residues ensures the long term function of the adjustment mechanics.  In contact with hard, calciferous water, all parts of the razor should be decalcified approximately every 3 months, or as necessary.  The parts should be placed in a diluted and lukewarm vinegar solution (max. 70-100F) and moved occasionally.  Extended contact with vinegar or other lime solvents will destroy the surface and corrode the metal."

Periodic application of Sterol Oil (available on the Maintenance and Restoration Page) will keep the moving parts of the Vision Razor lubricated and free of rust.

Please note that ClassicShaving.com recommends this model of adjustable safety razor for the Gentleman who tinkers and is willing to put time and effort into the care of his Razor.
